Who will win D.C's Street League?
The Ballistyx! Bowl is just about done! Sneak peeks of our baby...
The BBQ has been wheeled into the shop. The eskis have been pulled out of the back of the garage and dusted down in preparation for next week when our baby will be ready to shred! I was talking to Derek Nicholson from City Snow Events this morning, who has been working well into the night with Craig Inch to ensure that the Ballistyx! bowl will inspire warm feelings and butterflies.
Encapsulating eveything needed in your dream bowl including full pool coping in one end to the removable 1.2m door wall ride/gap, no stops have been pulled to ensure that the Ballistyx! bowl will reach all standards of excellence. Derek and Craig have consulted with all sorts, including the masterminds behind Melbournes own 'The Ring of Fire', who have stated that the designs look 'radical!'
Utilizing the same construction principals as 'The Ring' but even more attention to detail such as full radius cut corners for that traditional bowl feel with heaps of pop for those who can really huck around, and a miter cut in each corner to ensure a smooth transition. The bowl will feature full standard coping and a three and a half foot transition, before dropping into a four foot transtition for the deep area, fully lined with pool tile coping. Fully layered with an MDF topsheet, the bowl promises to appeal to anybody who has ever placed their wheels on a transition. The boys behind this bowl have stated that there will be no other bowl like it in Australia in regards to the quality of the trannies and "roll".
Derek promises me that the topsheets will be layed down this weekend, and coping throughout next week, leaving it ready to shred by next weekend... there's going to be a lot of late nights coming up at work I feel.
I can't wait!
